In this role you’ll make an impact by:
? The Application and Technical Support Scientist will be the primary expert in the Fresh Dairy Industry, responsible for providing field technical solutions and troubleshooting within the dairy and DA categories in China.
? This role will collaborate closely with the Application team, Marketing team, Sales team, Global Bioprotection team, and Fresh Dairy and Cheese teams to deliver Novonesis solutions and provide dedicated field technical support.
? Plan, coordinate, and execute experiments and trials using appropriate methodologies and equipment.
? Support local sales and identify opportunities in the Bioprotection area of the business.
? Manage and actively participate in Bioprotection projects in Fresh Dairy, Cheese, and Plant-based applications.
? Critically evaluate and interpret experimental results.
? Precisely, concisely, and professionally prepare trial reports.
? Proactively engage in customer projects and knowledge sharing.
? Documents experimental results in Novonesis systems and actively updates TSP, trial plans, and systems.
? Interact with customers professionally.
? Enhance specialized knowledge in the Bioprotection, Fresh Dairy, Cheese, and Plant-based product areas.
? Promote Novonesis’ reputation as a knowledge-based organization.
? Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
? Ensure compliance with Novonesis’ values, policies, and objectives as per the job description.
? Conform to Global Applied R&D Dairy and DA’s goals and procedures.
Customer Technical Support:
? Understand and analyse customer technical requirements based on their processes and recipes.
? Offer standard products and solutions tailored to customer needs.
? Define and clearly understand customer requirements and technical challenges, cross-referencing them with our available products and providing practical solutions.
Trial Planning and Execution:
? Plan, execute, and report on trials in the Regional Application Center (RAC) or at customer plants, as per the assignment of the Manager.
? Prioritize and schedule technical support activities to support the sales team in achieving sales targets through exceptional technical service.
Customer Collaboration:
? Assist and guide customers in conducting excellent laboratory trials, pilot trials, and field plant trials.
? Comfortable in presenting the results for the customers afterwards and drive value dialogue.
Partnership Development:
? Identify and map out Bioprotection opportunities and proactively follow-up
? Foster and strengthen partnerships with customers to enhance their satisfaction and loyalty.
To succeed you must hold:
? Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Food Science, Biotechnology, or Chemistry.
? Technical aptitude and strong technical knowledge of the dairy processing and ingredient industry.
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office and communication tools.
? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
? Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
? Assistance and guidance to customers with plant review and accurate QC as needed.
? Collaboration with commercial departments in Novonesis on customer projects and opportunities.
? Development and maintenance of relationships with Customers (Production, R&D, and QA/QC) to enhance dairy sales support.
? Organization and provision of customer materials (product data sheets, trial results analysis, presentations on products and applications, promotion materials) in local language.
? Training of sales team/distributors/customer staff to enhance their understanding of Novonesis products and fully utilize the Novonesis solution.
? Customer focus orientation with the ability to respond appropriately to inquiries and complaints.
? Sales and commercial experience is a plus but not mandatory.
? Responsibility, proactivity, customer orientation, and teamwork.
? Comfortable working with customers and have past experiences working with customers.
? Solid technical knowledge of fresh dairy processing from the process to the application level.
? Quality-oriented mindset.
? Excellent listening and communication skills in both Chinese and English.
? Willingness to travel frequently and flexibility to conduct night trials to meet customer schedules.
