Role Summary As a member of the Product Verification Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of Varian's latest radiotherapy systems. Your responsibilities will include writing automated tests using our proprietary Python testing framework, as well as developing and executing manual test cases. You will work collaboratively with engineering teams at Varian’s R&D sites located in Palo Alto (United States), Bangalore (India) and Baden (Switzerland). Key Responsibilities ● Conduct both manual and automated software testing using systematic approaches to uphold and enhance quality standards for treatment delivery products. ● Develop, modify, and implement manual and automated software test plans. ● Assist in managing and driving the test schedule and related activities. ● Perform hands-on installation and configuration of hardware and software components to set up verification test environments. ● Execute test cases efficiently and within established timelines. ● Identify defects and document them clearly and thoroughly. ● Collaborate closely with other testers and developers to coordinate testing efforts and resolve issues. ● Maintain documentation of test results to support debugging and software/system modification processes. ● Analyze test results to confirm existing functionality and recommend corrective actions when necessary. ● Consult with development engineers to help resolve identified problems. ● Review and analyze product specifications—including product requirements, system, functional, and design specifications—to ensure quality, safety, reliability, and testability. ● Independently perform product testing in test labs and test cell environments. ● Travel occasionally to off-site test locations, including Varian company offices or hospitals domestically and internationally, to conduct product testing. Required Skills and Knowledge ● Strong programming skills, preferably in Python, with experience working with the .NET framework. ● Demonstrated knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts. ● Proficiency in TFS (Azure) is considered a plus. ● Professional experience in software and system testing. ● Experience in medical device testing, especially in software/hardware integration, is highly desirable. ● Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, industry-standard testing practices, and bug tracking tools.
