Client Consultation & Proposal Development:
? Serve as the primary scientific liaison for clients, leading technical discussions to understand their project goals, challenges, and specific requirements.
? Critically evaluate client requests and design comprehensive, scientifically sound project plans and proposals.
? Clearly articulate project strategies, timelines, deliverables, and potential risks to clients and internal stakeholders.
Scientific Strategy & Design:
? Design optimal strategies for protein expression by selecting the most suitable system (E. coli, insect cell, or mammalian (transient/stable) based on protein characteristics and downstream applications.
? Conceptualize and design protein constructs, including decisions on tags, cleavage sites, and mutations to maximize expression and solubility.
? Develop multi-step, high-purity purification protocols utilizing a range of chromatography techniques (e.g., Affinity, IEX, SEC, HIC).
? Provide expert guidance on strategies for challenging targets, including membrane proteins.
Project Oversight & Execution:
? Direct and oversee the entire lifecycle of multiple protein science projects, from initial design to final report generation and protein shipment.
? Analyze and interpret data, troubleshoot complex scientific and technical challenges in expression and purification, and make critical decisions to ensure project success.
? Provide scientific leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to a team of research associates and junior scientists.
? Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Documentation & Communication:
? Maintain meticulous and accurate records of project design, experimental procedures, and results.
? Prepare and review comprehensive study reports, technical summaries, and presentations for clients.
? Communicate project progress, results, and any deviations from the plan to clients in a clear and timely manner.
